Sydney-based interior designer Ingrid Morgan creates deeply considered residential spaces defined by craftsmanship, classical influence and quiet beauty. Over more than a decade leading her studio, she continues to develop a style she describes as “quiet, classic & whimsical” — an aesthetic that pairs composure and restraint with unexpected charm.
Guided by natural materials and artisanal detail, Ingrid’s work celebrates the handmade and the enduring. Natural stone, limewash and tactile finishes form her palette, layered to create homes that feel calm, intelligent and quietly luxurious. She believes design should not only please the eye but also influence the body — shaping how we breathe, move, rest and think. Her continued exploration into the neuroscience and psychology of beauty informs every project, merging aesthetic sensibility with emotional wellbeing.
Ingrid’s practice spans Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, northshore and southern beaches with recent collaborations including Innovate Architects on a stunning Burraneer Bay residence.
Before founding her studio, Ingrid worked in Australia’s film and television, special effects and animation industry, experiences that shaped the role of storytelling, composition and atmosphere. With academic roots in intercultural studies and film, she views interiors as living narratives — spaces that quietly reflect and nurture the character and rhythm of the lives within them. A short stint living in Provence, France with her young family further deepen Ingrid’s belief that exposure to daily beauty was effecting her more than just visually but holistically and seeks to grow in knowledge and the implementation of this in her work.
Her design philosophy is simple yet meaningful: to create homes that nurture the senses, honour craftsmanship, and reveal the timeless relationship between beauty and the human experience.
